La Musique

I've been going through an interesting music phase lately.

I've been drawn to French music lately.

I used to be a Francophile. Just check out my blog when I would post four or five years ago (on second thought.. please don't). I used to fantasize about living in Paris, speaking perfect fluent french, wearing Parisian clothes, eating all of the finest French foods, etc. Then.. I actually went to France.

It was not as glamorous as I imagined it. I met a Belgian guy who confessed his love to me (feelings were not very mutual), and he spoke French to me constantly. Suddenly, French didn't sound as romantic as I thought it once did.

Then I started listening to this French music over a year after I had gotten over this obsession. It could be because I haven't been able to listen to French in a very long time, but I love it.

(This song has been on constant repeat in my apartment)

It's been kind of fun revisiting this old love I once had. I probably won't go back to Paris, though.

25 songs to get you into the autumn feels

Does anyone else adjust what they listen to according to the weather? I feel like I have to listen to happier and upbeat stuff when it's sunny. Fall and winter fit so well into my music.
My music taste tends to lean towards the very soft and calming tone.
Acoustic guitars, softly singing voices, violins, etc.

So here's a small playlist of my favorite songs of the moment, with a bit of a fall tone to it.
They'll be the perfect songs to listen to while driving in your car on a cloudy fall day.

Repepepepeat

I recently have been taking quite a few long trips and car rides. Been a little spontaneous. Not hating it a bit.
But I need good music while I drive so I've been really been actively looking for new music because I have hit quite the sound low.
Here is one song that I now have on repeat and repeat and repeat.

Now my lull is over.

Overdrive

This year, one of my goals is to run a 10k. A pretty simple and realistic goal I must say.
I love to run. I really do. But I have very little motivation to do it. I'll go for about a week and then I'll stop, then a couple of weeks later I'll start going every morning. I just need some consistency.

So armed with new running shoes, very comfortable running leggings and a bright pink down jacket, I'm doing it.

It's a very common to have some fitness kind of goal. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

So here's the playlist I've been using for my recent runs and I'm pretty proud of it. Feel free to steal it.

even if we're just dancing in the dark

If you never listened to any other music I've posted on here,
reconsider this one.
It gives you that feeling deep in your chest when you know something is affecting you.

spring playlist

springtime means new music in my playlist.
I tend to listen to a lot of folk in the fall and winter and lots of techno and electronic music in the spring and summer,
I don't mean to, it's just what my mind feels is more appropriate.

here are some new songs I've found that I probably will be listening to all spring.

je t'aime un peu plus fort

one thing I really love in life is finding a song that you love and treasure for a time and then just tuck it away and started listening to other music,
then one day you come across it,
and listen to it and you're instantly flooded with the amazing feelings you got from it.

that happened to me with this song.
I used to speak french... kind of.
it just reminds me of the happiness I felt at that time in my life,
that was about two years ago when I was feeling the itch for graduating and being scared to death of what may lie ahead of me.
which is quite similar to the situation I'm in right now I guess you could say.
do you have any songs like that in your life?
