Time Killer

I've picked up a weird new hobby too occupy my time. Don't really know where it came from, but now I can't stop.
Embroidery

I found an image on Pinterest that caught my attention and for some reason thought to myself, "I have to embroider that."
So I did!

- I pulled up the picture on my computer and did my best to sketch it out from what I could see.
- After I had it down to what I wanted, I traced it in dark ink. Then I laid my white fabric over top of my sketch and traced it the best that I could.
- Then I sat down on my carpet, turned on some Parks and Rec, and stitched my little heart out.

After I had done all of it, it just didn't feel complete. So I added a little extra

Then it felt complete

This was my very first embroidery project. I'm not going to lie, I am really proud of it. It takes a lot of effort for me to finish a project. Let alone finish it well.

I think I'll stick to this hobby for a while.

Leg Breathing Time

It's been incredibly warm. I'm much more a fan of cold weather. But it was kind of nice to stretch my legs out. They're super white and I don't even care.
So here's to the first day of me admitting that my favorite time of year is over.
I've been very self conscious about my legs almost my whole life. Lately, I've been running my guts out. I think I'm finally a little comfortable enough to not want to squirm anytime I have more than half of my calf showing. So props to me.

However, no matter the weather, I will always wear flannel. I will wear it in the dead of July and sweat it out.

Flannel Forever.

Also, my dog decided he wanted to help me. She's super clingy. I love it to pieces.

Let your legs breathe! It's time!
(but let's get real, I'll probably be in tights again tomorrow)

Ezra's day out

My sister-in-law is sick. She asked if I could take my nephew for the day because she's not feeling good. She apologized over and over again for inconveniencing me. I was not inconvenienced at all.

Fabric stores, Chick-Fil-A, Toys R' Us, and parks.
I'm so obsessed with being an aunt. I could get used to it.

Smock Striped Dress

I've been home from traveling for about 3 months now. I lived my life out of a suitcase for almost an entire year. I wore the same clothes over and over again. So because of that, I feel like I started caring a lot less about the way I dressed. I never thought it would happen, but it did.
It was hard for me to buy anything because I suddenly had so many clothes! But alas, that did not last long. This past week I've gone a little nuts. So hello fashion blog! I am back.

While in church a couple of weeks ago, I saw a girl wearing the cutest striped dress. A dress I knew I had to have.
So after class was done, I hunted her down and asked where she got it. She looked at me with wide eyes and said "I got it at Old Navy.. Yesterday. Go and get it." So I did.

It is one of my favorite dresses. I love smock dresses. It doesn't feel like it's suffocating me.
It's linen, it's light, and it's straight up adorable. It'll be perfect in the summer when I'm hot and bothered from the heat. Because I get very hot and bothered.

Since smock dresses are pretty girl and make me feel a little juvenile, I would recommend keeping accessories on the less girly side. Ankle boots are. my. jam.

LBD Spring Break Style Challenge

Guys, I am so excited to share this with you.
I was inspired by Daily Look to be a part of their LBD Spring Break Style Challenge.
I picked my favorite little black dress from their Little Black Dress Collection and built an outfit for my upcoming spring break vacation.
It's actually pretty cool.. this spring break is going to be an excellent one.
My great friend Morgan will be moving to Washington D.C. and will be driving there all the way from Salt Lake City.
Crazy right? Want to know something even crazier? I'm going with her.

That's right, for my spring break I will be going on a two day, 2,000 mile road trip.
Matching tattoos have been discussed.

So I picked the Knot Sisters Julia Dress for my spring break LBD
It seems breezy enough to wear on those long drives. Plus I'm a little obsessed with the hemline on this dress.

- This little black dress will be perfect for walking around D.C. and will be easy to transition with other outfits. I'll most likely be living out of a backpack for a week so that would be convenient. It's casual enough to wear touring the Smithsonian, eating Georgetown Cupcakes, and walking the Mall. But once I take off my shirt, the low back gives it a dressy feel and I could wear it out to dinner with some heels. This is kind of the perfect dress.

- Some super strappy sandals will be much needed. I'm such a fan of the sandals that have countless straps. Makes me feel like a Nephite.
- So I own a floppy hat just like that but I never feel like I have an occasion to wear it without feeling overdressed. What better place to use it than on a road trip, or to a city that I don't know anybody?
- I'm a big backpack person. I would rather have one of these than a purse any day. So this floral backpack really caught my eye. I need to tote around a lot of things, especially in a big city trip like this one.
- Tortoise sunglasses. As Morgan and I say, "light eye problems". Because we always need sunglasses. I'll be blind if not. Plus I'm dying for some round ones this spring.
- Who knows what the weather will be like? Just in case, I have a denim shirt. I could wear it over my dress in case it gets a little chilly. Or I could even tie it around my waist and be one of those cool kids.
- I always need a watch. No matter the occasion.
- Because I will be spending about 30 hours in a car, I figured getting a really good book to read would be a dynamite idea.
- Most importantly, you'd better bring a camera. I would highly suggest if you haven't invested in a camera yet, you should do so right now.

I can't wait to use this outfit on my vacation. It's going to be an adventure of a lifetime and I'd better dress appropriately.

Repepepepeat

I recently have been taking quite a few long trips and car rides. Been a little spontaneous. Not hating it a bit.
But I need good music while I drive so I've been really been actively looking for new music because I have hit quite the sound low.
Here is one song that I now have on repeat and repeat and repeat.

Now my lull is over.
