oh what?

it's christmas already?
oh uh shoot.
maybe i should wrap my presents,

i went with a simple way of wrapping my gifts
i wrapped them in white poster paper we had lying around our house,
followed this tutorial for the lettering and wrapped some ribbon around the packages.

i had these great plans for my gift wrapping this year but they sort of fell by the wayside.

i can't wait for them to feast their eyes on these babies.

it'll be a good christmas.
i can just feel it.

sometimes in life,
things don't go according to plan.
you may be angry and frustrated at first.
but then you realize,
everything happens for a reason.

and thanks to many prayers and sleepless nights,
i'm at peace.

fun fact.

my dad is santa.

he dresses up like santa for a some family friend's christmas party every year for about ten years.
he doesn't have to stuff a pillow under his jacket and we don't even put blush on his already rosy cheeks.
i would say he's closest thing to santa you could find.


oh why do i look so funny?

i got my wisdom teeth out yesterday.

it hurts and the pain killers are making me sick. really sick.
but luckily the kardashians and gilmore girls are making me feel a little better

all i've eaten is pudding, mashed potatoes, spaghetti o's and oatmeal.
it's been an awesome couple of days.

i finally got my computer back.
the virus, destroyed it.
the nice geek squad people fixed it.
however, to fix it they had to delete everything.
everything.

music, videos, pictures, gone.
thankfully my important pictures are backed up.
no music to listen to though.

since all of it is gone i decided to just start over my music library.
i had a lot of music i didn't even like anymore.

so here's my question,

what is your most played band?
or just a band you'd like to recommend.
i'd greatly appreciate it.

so... here's the thing.
my computer has been taken over by a virus.
i don't know how to get it off,
i don't know how it got on there,
but i took it to the professionals before it did serious damage.
it's making my hair fall out and my face break out.

good news though.
i'm no longer a failure.
i'm a college student now.
starting january i will be stomping the campus of orem. watch out.
that also caused the lost hairs and acne.

it's been quite the week to say the least.

for i'm truly uninspired.

i went shopping today, not really for black friday, shopping was merely a necessity for the lack of clothes my RM brother was having.

i'm done christmas shopping. it feels pretty good.

but there were some pretty good deals where i was but again, i'm very uninspired.
i wandered for at least a half hour with nothing but a little gift for my mom.

why can't i find anything??

then i saw this girl walk in, she had that style that everybody wants to dress like but they're too scared.
she had a loose braid, glasses, a chunky knit sweater, ankle pants that showed her fair isle patterned socks inside of her oxfords.

she walked in and immediately started grabbing things.
(note: i'm really not a creeper like this in most situations.)
soo... i followed her around.

and you know what?
it worked.
not saying i copied her.
i actually saw her as she was checking out and she had none of the same things

but i found two things that i'm pretty excited about

my mom got mad at me and took them from me, threw me some cash and said i had to wait until christmas to wear them now.

christmas. i can't wait.

one thing i'm grateful for this thanksgiving?
having my brother home safely after serving the lord for two years.

costco sampling etiquette

today was a particularly hard day at the store of costco,
i decided to vent a little bit while teaching a great lesson for my readers.

i'm a sample lady.
yes it is quite a job.

so here is my guide to being a polite costco sampler.

(yes people really do these things)

1. don't ignore us. our job is to greet you and talk about our product, just be a little nice

2. please please please only grab one.we take all this time to fill up the tray and i'm ready to give nine people a taste and then one person comes up and grabs four. cool. i guess only five people will get to taste it.

3. we have a little plastic shelter thing for a reason, don't grab any other food that isn't underneath it. nothing irks me more. i've had people come behind and reach around me to get it while i'm preparing.

4. don't be a know it all. we don't know what we're sampling until we get there that morning, i can't tell you everything about the product.

and finally

5. don't hover. unless i'm having a conversation with you, and i'm not ready, don't hang around and wait for the sample, walk around the aisle or something.


now instead of giving you the stink eye like i do when people do these things, all the sampling ladies will love you.

somedays, i just get this sudden motivation to just do something crafty.
but i have nothing to do.

one thing i really want to do is get a new duvet,
mine's super old and doesn't even match my room or what i'm going for,
neither does it match my gorgeous handmade quilt from my grandma.

i have always had my eye on those ruffled duvets

i researched it.

there are tons of tutorials for each of these.

the only problem is finding time to do it.

i'm seriously thinking of doing this one or this one.

those of you who know me, know my polka-dot dress.

i love my polka-dot dress.

it's amazing.

 i also bought the boots from aldo.

they were kind of a spontaneous buy.

i tried to find a picture of me in my favorite halloween costume,

when i was seven, my mom made me a dress that looked exactly like sleeping beauty's blue dress.

we tried to find just one we could buy but they were only in pink.

i needed it in blue so my mom so lovingly made it.

however me and my mom took at least two hours trying to find a picture and had no luck.

so instead here's a picture of my other two favorite costumes.

also my sixteen year old brother believes nobody is too old for halloween.
