ombre

I was pretty stoked when I saw lauren conrads ombre nails.

so cool right?
my thought process was, I have a million bottles of nail polish, why don't I try it?
I kind of had a variety of pinks and purples, and the purples looked the most gradient.

now I'm trying to blame my camera but..
yeah they don't look so ombre in the picture but I promise, my nails look pretty sweet.
maybe they'll look better with the pinks..

so a while ago I posted about possibly making my own duvet cover.

for christmas, I received a down comforter from my parents.

and now my sweet grandma is helping me make this one

we're about halfway done.

I wanted to spiff up my bed a bit more and I stumbled across these pillows on pinterest

so I got a little crafty and made a couple of my own versions.

be warned, they definitely don't look as cute as those are obviously.

so the first one i made was the striped one.

I made mine from an old grey and white t-shirt I had

and the other was a bow one that I made from some mint green scrap fabric I had

I'm pretty satisfied.

it took a lot of work and my seam ripper was my best friend for sure.

i've been out of school for way too long.

on mondays and wednesdays i have classes from 8:00 am to 5:15 pm.
a couple breaks in between.
but still, it's a long time.

i'm really mad that when i was looking at colleges in high school, i just automatically ruled out utah valley university.
i really regret that because i love this place.
not too shabby.
now if only i could get an apartment...

they are pretty excellent if i do say so myself.

i was pretty excited to watch the season premiere only to find out there were a few disappointments.

a different host.

yes my friends, no heidi klum. it just was not at all the same hearing the same words from an american supermodel i never even heard of. i was missing that german accent and especially the "coming up on pwoject wunway".

different judges.

no nina, no michael. although i am pretty pleased to hear from isaac mizrahi.

and worst of all

a different mentor.

the best part of project runway, tim gunn, is. not. there. the catch phrase of project runway. make it work. it isn't said once. it really is a giant disappointment since i have a great love for tim. however, i will say that joanna coles has great insight into the fashion industry and will have a great opinion.

this should be a hoot.

my birthday was..
